Burn With Me Cards and Rituals: Growth, Perfect Turns, Challenges

Burn With Me card mechanics — permanent burning, card growth, perfect turns, 11-card turns and the sanity vessel, plus challenge achievement tech.

10/13/2026 Launch Last updated: 10/13/2026 3 min read

This page collects every card mechanic we can confirm from the launch build and its achievement list. Where the community is still documenting exact numbers, we say so.

The confirmed mechanics

Mechanic What we know Evidence
Permanent burning Burned cards are destroyed; too many losses ends the ritual Steam page + Empty-handed
Card growth Cards can grow in base points, up to at least 50 They grow fast (grow any card to 50 base points)
Big single plays 20+ points from one card is tracked as early as Chapter 1 Big bite
Mega turns Playing 11 cards in one turn is possible All in
Sanity vessel A fillable/spendable resource, cyclable within one turn Rollercoaster
Draws are limited Skipping “draw card” entirely is a winnable challenge Fatalist
Perfect turns Turns can be graded “perfect”; Chapter 4 tracks avoiding them I am bad at math

Growth and synergies

They grow fast (grow any card to 50 base points) confirms cards scale — and combined with “summon new creatures, synergize them” from the Steam page, the intended builds are creature-synergy decks where a grown card becomes your finisher.

Practical pattern for early chapters:

  1. Pick one growable card per run and feed it.
  2. Use creatures to cover what your deck lacks instead of burning to patch holes.
  3. Save the 11-card mega turn (All in) for a demon fight — it needs a full hand, which means a full deck.

The challenge trio

Three achievements define the expert meta, and each maps to a core mechanic:

  • Fatalist — complete a chapter without pressing “draw card”. Teaches hand conservation; pairs naturally with position play.
  • Firefighter — complete a chapter without burning a single card. The anti-burn run: you rely on creatures and sanity effects instead.
  • I am bad at math — complete Chapter 4 without a single perfect turn. A weird one: it rewards deliberately imperfect math, which means the game grades every turn. If you’re chasing it, play Chapter 4 casually rather than optimally.

Sanity cycling (Chapter 5 tech)

Rollercoaster — gain 10 sanity, spend it all, refill the vessel, all in one turn — is the clearest statement of the late-game loop: sanity is not a battery you charge once, it’s a paddle you keep in motion. Build toward cards that gain sanity so spending it is never a dead end.

Honest gap: exact card names, burn costs and sanity values per card are still being documented. We publish mechanics confirmed by the game and its achievements first; the card database lands here as it is verified.
